About Tamara

Tamara Wahl received Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at a young age and seeks to honor Him in all areas of her life. She strives to use the gifts and resources He has given her to help comfort and strengthen others through her published works, blogs, and speaking. Throughout the years, Tamara has also served in leadership roles within the women’s ministries and Stephen’s Ministry at her churches.

Tamara watched her late husband’s health steadily decline over the course of eight months with no clear diagnosis and no clear recovery path. Then, Doug died suddenly and unexpectedly. As she grappled with the pain of her devastating loss and the memories of the intense experiences prior to his passing, she felt completely overwhelmed. That’s when the Lord led her on the healing journey that she outlines in Healing Balm For Grief and Healing Balm For Grief Devotional.

Doug and Tamara met while they were both students at the University of Southern California (USC). After graduating from USC, they married, and Tamara started her business career working in sales management for the Pepsi-Cola Bottling Group in Los Angeles. Prior to starting a family, she finished the first 10 years of her career in branch management at Wells Fargo Bank in Southern California. While enjoying sixteen years as a full-time mom with her daughters, Tamara served in her local church’s women’s ministries and homeschooled her daughters for a time.

When she returned to the workplace, Tamara served on fundraising management teams for four different non-profits prior to retiring in 2023. She currently leads a women’s Bible study at her local church.

Tamara and Doug were married more than 41 years prior to Doug’s passing in 2024. Tamara lives near Charlottesville, VA and is Mom to two daughters and Mimi to two young granddaughters. She enjoys working in her flower and vegetable garden and encouraging others to go deeper in their walks with Jesus.

Called to Write Healing Balm
After receiving healing from God for the deep soul wounds that her husband’s death created, the Lord told Tamara that He wanted to deliver more widows and widowers from the darkness that their grief has created. Writing the Healing Balm For Grief and Healing Balm For Grief Devotional books was an act of obedience to the Lord’s instructions.

It is her prayer that God uses these books to aid widows and widowers in receiving the life-changing healing that He has for them. As they seek His healing and direction, they will go deeper in their personal walks with the Lord and see that His purposes for their lives didn’t die when their spouses did.
